Job Summary: Under the supervision of nursing staff, the Clinical Technician is responsible for monitoring and providing direct care to patients undergoing hemodialysis. This role involves ongoing patient monitoring, communication with the care team, and functioning as part of an interdisciplinary team. The technician ensures adherence to infection control policies, maintains a safe work environment, and demonstrates technical skills such as cannulation and machine setup. The role also includes reinforcing patient education, responding to emergencies, and assisting in the administration of prescribed treatments.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Dialysis clinical technician certification required (must be obtained within 18 months of hire if not already certified).
• Certification must be maintained in accordance with federal regulations and CMS-approved programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in science.
• Previous dialysis experience.

Additional Information:

• Must adhere to customer service standards, including communication, ownership, and teamwork.
• Ability to lift and push patients, carry dialysate solution containers, and respond to audible alarms.
• Must pass a color vision test.
• Demonstrates a caring and compassionate manner toward patients and families.
• Adheres to infection control and HIPAA requirements.
• Completes required in-services and online education.
• Works effectively in a complex and changing environment.
