Novant Health Palliative Care team is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. Responsibilities:

• Manage an average daily caseload of 45 patients
• Take and document vital signs during visits
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team
• Provide coverage for team members' PTO as needed
• Support clinic or team needs when no patient appointments are scheduled

What We're Looking For:

Education: High school diploma. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, that includes an externship in a medical office clinical setting, required. Curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration. (Certificate must be obtained within six months of hire).Certifications accepted: CMA American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)CCMA National Health career Association (NHA)RMA American Medical Technologists (AMT)RMA American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)RMA - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)RMA - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)Experience: Previous work in a medical setting preferred.Licensure/certification/registration: CMA, CCMA, RMA. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096. Annual UAP agreement with provider required.Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
