Welcome to Basin Dermatology, a leader in medical and cosmetic dermatology services in Midland, Texas. Basin Dermatology is looking for a experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant or LVN to be the first face that our wonderful dermatology patients see when they walk in our friendly office!
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, often seeing many patients daily.
- Mix of medical dermatology (disease treatment) and cosmetic dermatology (aesthetic procedures).
- Requires attention to detail and comfort with minor surgical procedures.

- Rooming patients : Taking vital signs and documenting medical history (skin concerns, medications, allergies).
- Assisting with skin exams : Helping the provider during full-body checks for conditions like acne, eczema, or suspicious moles.
- Procedure assistance :
- Biopsies
- Cryotherapy (freezing lesions/warts)
- Excision of cysts or skin cancers
- Preparing instruments and sterile trays for procedures.
- Wound care : Cleaning, dressing, and giving aftercare instructions.
- Administering medications (depending on certification/state law), such as topical treatments or injections.
- Photographing skin conditions for documentation and tracking progress.
- Explaining treatment plans and medication use.
- Teaching proper wound care after procedures.
- Advising on sun protection and skin health.
- Updating electronic medical records (EMR) .
- Scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
- Handling insurance authorizations for procedures or medications.
- Answering patient questions via phone or patient portals.
- Managing inventory of medical and skincare supplies.
- Assisting with cosmetic procedures like chemical peels, laser treatments, or Botox (varies by office and certification).
- Educating patients on skincare routines and products .
- Helping manage chronic conditions like acne, psoriasis, and rosacea.
- One (1)+year experience in a medical setting, preferred
- MUST HAVE the social skills to interact with patients
- MUST get along with others in the work place
- MUST be able to work on your feet for 8 hours
- MUST be motivated with an outgoing personality
- Bilingual, perferred
