With four comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations in the Portland metropolitan area, our unique role is to make high-quality education accessible to everyone, creating opportunities for our students and contributing to the economic development of our community.The Office Assistant II provides bilingual administrative, operational, and front-line support to the DREAMers and Latine Student Success Program, including the College Access Latine Initiative (CALI) and the Unity Resource Center (URC). Reporting to the Dean of College Access and working closely with the DREAMers and Latine Student Success Coordinator, this position plays a vital role in ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of the program while fostering a welcoming, culturally affirming, and student-centered environment.The position supports student engagement, outreach, program coordination, event planning, communications, data management, and office operations, while serving as one of the primary points of contact for students, families, and community partners. The Office Assistant II also conducts proactive bilingual outreach and follow-up with students and families, helping connect them to resources and services that promote engagement, persistence, and a sense of belonging. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, culturally responsive, highly organized, and committed to advancing educational equity and student success for Latine, Indigenous, immigrant, mixed-status, first-generation, and other historically underserved student populations.This position is based at the Rock Creek Campus and requires occasional travel to support outreach activities, community partnerships, and program events.See the classification description for additional information: "This position includes a 5% Bilingual differential and bilingual skill in Spanish language is required"What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking ForTypical Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet students and visitors to the DREAMers Resource Center and CALI program, in person and virtually, providing a welcoming and culturally affirming environment.Respond to inquiries in English and Spanish, and assist students and families in navigating college services and accessing appropriate supports.Schedule appointments for students with the Coordinator, legal service providers, or campus/community partners.Support the coordination and logistics of events, including legal clinics, family nights, Know Your Rights workshops, student leadership meetings, and CALI outreach activities.Assist in preparing bilingual communication materials (flyers, email campaigns, newsletters, and social media posts) for both DRC and CALI initiatives.Maintain organized records of student contacts, event participation, and services accessed, and support data entry and tracking in spreadsheets or databases, such as Banner.Assist with room reservations, event set-up, material preparation, and coordination of student and family workshops.Translate documents and support Spanish-language communication as needed for outreach to families and community members.Help manage basic budget tracking for student supplies, event materials, and emergency aid documentation under the guidance of the Coordinator.Provide administrative support in managing email inboxes, calendars, inventory, filing systems, and web-based content for both DRC and CALI.Support onboarding, scheduling, and informal supervision of student workers and volunteers assisting in either program.Actively collaborate with departments such as Financial Aid, Admissions, Multicultural Centers, and Student Life to support program referrals and student success.Attend college trainings, staff meetings, and relevant committee meetings related to student support and equity.These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position. Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these success criteria.D emonstrates strong bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English , along with cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with Latine, immigrant, undocumented, mixed-status, and first-generation students and families.Demonstrates a strong commitment to educational equity and student success , with the ability to create a welcoming, culturally responsive, and student-centered environment for historically underserved communities.Demonstrates strong organizational, administrative, and technology skills , including scheduling, data entry, record management, attention to detail, and proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Banner, Workday, or similar systems.Demonstrates the ability to build trusting relationships and provide exceptional customer service through effective communication, professionalism, confidentiality, and responsiveness to students, families, colleagues, and community partners.Demonstrates the ability to coordinate multiple projects and support program operations , including events, outreach, communications, and office functions while managing competing priorities effectively.Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills , with the ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and follow through with minimal supervision.Demonstrates an understanding of the experiences and strengths of DREAMers, undocumented, DACA, mixed-status, immigrant, and first-generation students , and the ability to connect students with appropriate resources and support.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent equivalent.Three (3) years of general office experience. (Up to two years may be substituted with college/business school training.)Experience working in multicultural and/or multilingual environments.Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English is required for this position.Preferred QualificationsLived experience or demonstrated understanding of DREAMers, DACA, and mixed-status student experiences.Experience supporting college access or transition programs, ideally for Latine or first-generation students.Experience conducting proactive student outreach and supporting student persistence, retention, or belonging initiatives in higher education or community-based settings.Familiarity with services such as FAFSA/ORSAA, DACA, Advance Parole, and wraparound student supports.Experience using tools such as Google Workspace, Banner, Workday, Canva, and basic graphic or communication platforms.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with attention to confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily campus-based and student-facing, with occasional requirements for room and event setup, as well as light physical activity.,Local travel may occasionally be required to support DRC and CALI outreach events or community partnerships.Why You'll Love Working HereThe PCC district encompasses a 1,500-square-mile area in northwest Oregon and offers two-year degrees, one-year certificate programs, short-term training, alternative education, pre-college courses and life-long learning.
