Telemetry Technician - Per Diem

Job Description Reports to and is under the general supervision of the Manager and/or Assistant Manager of MS7. The Telemetry Technician monitors cardiac rhythms, records pertinent data, and reports abnormalities to the medical team. Responsibilities Monitor cardiac rhythms, recording pertinent data, and reporting abnormalities to the medical team in accordance with established protocols. Apply knowledge of age‑related differences and needs of patients from neonate through adolescence to practice. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with coworkers, patients, and family members. Support the mission, values, and goals of the organization through consistent behavior aligned with Connecticut Children’s standards. Understand and follow Connecticut Children’s policies and procedures. Qualifications Education and/or Experience Required Successful completion of a telemetry technician program with a certificate or equivalent documentation. High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of Connecticut Children’s Cardiac Monitor Technician Training within 30 days of hire. Minimum 1 year of related job experience working in a telemetry role. Basic familiarity with computers and web‑based applications, and Microsoft Office. License and/or Certifications Required Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training certification required within 3 months of hire and maintained thereafter. CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross preferred at time of hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to learn basic medical terminology, mathematics, and measurements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in English required. Ability to maintain quality and safety standards. Learn and follow established protocols. Learn and demonstrate competency in reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Demonstrate competency in cardiac telemetry monitoring. #J-18808-Ljbffr
