Construction Electrical Project Manager II- Solar

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Electrical Manager II to join our Solar group, to provide electrical technical support throughout construction projects, interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment with professionalism and efficiency. Location: Must be open to any location in the continental United States. Travel: This is a 100% travel position; locations may vary based on the project. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete you will be assigned to another project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical electrical support to crews and subcontractors
• Supervise self-perform crews
• Identify and maintain a list of qualified electrical contractors and

engineers

• Review design documents for conformance and resolve issues
• Implement best practices and low-cost alternatives; keep clients informed
• Coordinate with departments to support project schedules
• Work with Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and managing resources
• Coach, mentor, and train field personnel
• Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field
• Minimum eight years of electrical construction management and/or electrical

design experience * Minimum two years of experience with project completion from mobilization to turnover

• Proficiency in medium and high voltage technical knowledge
• Specialized knowledge/experience in electrical control, substations, t-line,

etc.

• Current driver's license
• Knowledge of NEC code and NE safety code
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership

skills

• Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Project, and web applications
• Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Active listening skills and effective communication
• Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $144,300 MIN - $216,500 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
