Claims Executive, Commercial Risk - Insurance Advisory Solutions

Overview The Baldwin Group is an insurer specialist delivering tailored commercial, private, and employee benefits policies across the U.S. The Claims Executive serves as an expert in claims handling and training, acting as a strategic partner for clients and carriers to reduce risk and cost. Responsibilities Work with insurance partners and clients to establish claims protocols and policy enhancements ensuring proper reporting, notification, settlement, and defense. Schedule and conduct claim reviews with clients and insurers to ensure proper claims handling, reserve standards, and settlement protocols. Act as a claims advocate and liaison for clients looking to mitigate claims costs. Regularly review individual claims within client portfolios, keeping reserves and records up-to-date according to industry best practices. Serve as a mentor to colleagues as requested. Contribute to business development and renewal opportunities by attending client meetings and explaining the firm’s claims mitigation and resolution approach. Maintain awareness of industry trends, best practices, legal and regulatory changes relevant to claims management. Provide summaries of claims reviews and related activities to advisors, directors, and clients as necessary. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of claims management for various commercial claims including workers' compensation, property & casualty, management liability, professional liability, and specialty claims. Ability to motivate and influence colleagues and clients; strong teacher, trainer, and mentor capabilities. Team-oriented, building relationships across the firm’s business segments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels, including with diverse clients. Proficient in presenting solutions, value propositions, and risk mitigation strategies. Experience interpreting documents such as coverage and reservation of rights letters, profit & loss statements, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Experience with policy coverage review and dispute resolution. Knowledge of Spanish language is a plus. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Demonstrates alignment with the firm’s core values and culture. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred. 10+ years experience in claims and client/customer facing support roles within the insurance industry. Preferred certifications: AIC, CPCU, ARM, CIC, AINS, WCCP, CLRI, CRM, PRM.
