Pharmacy Technician

Overview Join to apply for the Pharmacy Technician 4 - Infusion role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center . Responsibilities Under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with other technicians, prepare unit dose and intravenous medications for dispensing to patients. Make scheduled deliveries to appointed nursing units to deliver medications to patients. Assist pharmacists with medication order entry into the pharmacy computer system. Maintain stock levels of medications to avoid delays in service to patients. Demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a team. Serve as functional and technical expert in each area or specialty; lead and direct technical activities in that area. Lead Pharmacy Technician acts as a positive role model and supports productivity management, training, mentoring of new staff, special projects, and committee meetings. Comply with all hospital and department rules, regulations and requirements. Position Summary This position performs all duties of a Pharmacy Technician Senior, in addition to coordinating daily workflow, daily assignments and providing overall support to the operation of the department. The Lead provides all quality assessment and audit activities for the Pharmacy area. This position assists the licensed pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients, as well as providing necessary services and information to nursing and medical staff. These services include leading the preparation and packaging of medications, distribution of medications, supplies and equipment, maintaining proper inventory levels, keeping appropriate records and documentation, and submitting patient charges/credits. The Lead may cover additional Manager responsibilities, as necessary, in the Manager's absence or if a vacancy occurs.
