The Biologics Process Analytics team seeks to leverage the best in analytical chemistry, state-of-the-art instrumentation, and automation to enable timely production of high-quality biotherapeutics for clinical trials and commercial manufacturing. The biotherapeutic modalities we support include monoclonal antibodies, bispecific and trispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, antibody-drug conjugates, viral vectors, and more.

Position Summary The Associate Scientist position will be responsible for conducting analytical testing and method development to support Biologics Process Development and Product Quality Testing at the New Brunswick site. This role involves performing a variety of analytical assays and techniques to ensure the quality and efficacy of biologic products throughout the development process. Key Responsibilities Support in-process analytical testing for monoclonal antibodies and fusion proteins, including HPLC/UPLC, isoelectric focusing, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, qPCR, etc. Record, analyze, evaluate, and interpret data to support process development optimization. Support method development and standardization activities in collaboration with partner groups at New Brunswick, Devens, and other BMS sites. Maintain accurate and up to date laboratory e-notebook documentation. Learn analytical skills needed to support future assays for the next generation of biologics programs. Leverage automation technologies such as Tecan, Andrew, Hamilton, etc. to improve team efficiency through better ways of working. Ensure work is performed in accordance with established safety and quality protocols. Maintain a safe, clean, and high-performance laboratory environment. On-site presence is required to complete the primary responsibilities of this position. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Analytical Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with 1- 3 years of relevant industry experience. Experience in a variety of protein analytical techniques, including affinity chromatography, N-glycan characterization, charge variant analysis via iCIEF, size exclusion HPLC and UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, and ELISA, reverse phase chromatography. A basic understanding of cell line, upstream and downstream process development. Proficiency in Empower, ELN, LIMS, and Microsoft applications. Excellent communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of statistical experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Compensation Overview: New Brunswick - NJ - US: $86,100 - $104,329

The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance. U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.
