Software Engineer III

As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of software systems for advanced aerospace applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets performance and quality standards.

The team you will work with is on one of our Internal Research and Development (IR&D) programs on leading edge air defense technologies. You will join an established and motivated team that focuses on integration of multiple systems and software products together. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and testing of complex software components. Debug and troubleshoot advanced software issues. Write and maintain detailed code documentation. Conduct thorough code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Collaborate with team members to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. Support the integration of software with hardware systems. Define software requirements and specifications in collaboration with stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software performance and quality.

Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 6+ years of experience in experience in software development. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Proficiency in programming languages such as C# or Java. Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Proficient with communication and collaboration skills Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with Linux (RHEL) and windows services Knowledge of tactical/moving map software integration Knowledge with hardware integration and protocol development Background in Aerospace and Defense industry. Understanding of industry standard software languages such as C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, and Bash. Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build. Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral. Experienced with data structures.

Essential Functions: Ability to work on a computer for extended periods. Hand/finger dexterity for coding and testing. Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
