- # Registered Nurse (RN) PRNApply: Lexington, KY: Part time: Posted Today: R26103774**Summary****Job Description:****Registered Nurse:**Medical-Surgical-Telemetry unit.**Unit Overview:**6B is a 23-bed med/surg/telemetry unit. This unit specializes in post-cardiac intervention, medical cardiology, chemotherapy, continuous EEG, and post-procedural patients. Staff receive specialized training for post-catheterization and Tikosyn initiation/administration. This population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care.**Shift******:**** PRN, Days**Job Description:*** The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.* Employee honors patients 'mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual.* Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.* Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines.* The Registered Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.* As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.**Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:*** Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.* Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.* Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.* Basic life support* ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.**Benefits:*** Preventive Plan* Retirement Plans* Flimp Decisions - Flimp Decisions will help you pick the best value plan option given your expected medical needs.
