Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BLS, CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA required Must-Have: Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for up to 5 hours Description: SPT250 average daily tray volume. First-timers are accepted. No weekend requirements. Skills required include chemical agents for decontamination, disinfectants, use of washers/sterilizers, sterilization wrapping procedures, and sets/tray assembly. Knowledge of service lines including orthopedic, neurology, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal scopes is required. Regular floating may be required between departments and units as needed. Must have knowledge of acute hospital operating room processes, automated endoscope reprocessors, high-level disinfection, and immediate-use steam sterilization. Daily census is approximately 500. The unit handles a variety of patient diagnoses, requiring interdisciplinary support. All required skills must be clearly demonstrated for submission.
