Machine Operator Apprentice

Machine Operator Apprentices are entry-level professionals who are actively developing their skills regarding the trade. This role is part of a registered apprenticeship program, designed to provide hands‑on experience under the guidance of experienced machine operators, lead personnel, and designated mentors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well‑being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards. Operate various fabrication machines (e.g., punch press, shear, press brake). Set up tooling as needed. Read and interpret fabrication drawings. Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required. Understand machine operation, capacity, and routine maintenance. Responsible for overall quality and quantity of assigned work. Properly completes all routine paperwork related to the job responsibilities. Process will involve entering data into a computer‑based operating system. Work at developing knowledge of layout procedures and more complicated set‑ups and tolerance adjustments. Capable of performing all operational processes, including material handling with forklifts and overhead cranes, provided the individual is 18 years of age or older. Strives to maximize the quantity of assigned work completed. Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision. Education: Current High School Student who is actively involved in a Work‑based Learning Program.
