Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dedicated team. We are seeking qualified candidates to provide top-notch nursing care during night shifts. The ideal candidate will possess experience in acute care facilities and have a passion for delivering emergency care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Utilize EPIC for effective patient documentation and management.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain competency in required certifications and participate in ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Acute care facility experience is preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required at the time of hire.
• Completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is required within one year of hire.
• Demonstrated competency in Dysrhythmia is required during orientation.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required at the time of hire.

Additional Certifications

• For Critical Care Units: Completion of a Critical Care Course within one year of hire and demonstrated competency in IV Sedation within six months of hire is required.
• For Emergency Department: Competency in IV Sedation within six months of hire is required.
• For Obstetrics and NICU departments: Neonatal Resuscitation certification within six months of hire is required.
• Advanced and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications are required for the Labor & Delivery department.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to night shifts, with 36-48 hours per week expected.

Unit Details

Unit Description
This department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site, the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However, the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and it's services (i.e. Trauma registry, trauma coordinators) should not be included here. NCI Required. Moderate Sedation Training required.
