Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 48 guaranteed hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; unit may request traveler work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Work in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing care for pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients
• Fast-paced unit averaging 10-15 admissions per day with 90-95% occupancy during the week
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5 on days/evenings, 1:5-7 on nights
• Average patient length of stay is 2-3 days
• Must have ability to multitask, prioritize patient care needs based on acuity, and work as a team
• 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs acceptable

This facility is a well-established regional hospital serving as a comprehensive healthcare hub for the surrounding community. The facility features a high-volume post-surgical care unit that supports a broad continuum of care for adult and geriatric patients before and after surgery. With a Trauma Level II designation, the facility is equipped to handle complex medical cases and maintains a fast-paced environment with consistently high occupancy rates.
