Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Specialty Doctor The closing date is 16 July 2026 We are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to cover a current period of maternity leave in the paediatrics department. The role involves contributing to Acute Paediatrics and Level 2 neonatal services, with experience in community paediatrics welcomed, and participation in the general paediatric and neonatal out-of-hours rota. Key responsibilities include meeting recent legislative requirements, improving work intensity during out-of-hours, and supporting multidisciplinary workforce models across the region. Person Specification Qualifications MRCPCH or equivalent Valid provider status in APLS and NLS Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise Higher qualification APLS/NLS instructor status Experience Completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent part-time) with at least two years in a relevant specialty training programme Experience in a paediatric assessment unit and level 2 neonatal unit Teaching experience and ability to teach clinical skills Participation in continuous professional development Quality improvement/audit project experience with implemented change Additional sub-speciality paediatric experience Experience in NHS management and knowledge of NHS structures and systems Experience managing teams and using online patient record systems Skills Level 3 safeguarding competency Good command of spoken and written English Basic IT skills Organisational ability Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; a submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
