Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger-related duties, cost accounting, and FP&A, providing financial insights and guidance to management. This role includes preparing journal entries, analyzing trends, and offering strategic recommendations to optimize resource utilization and budget assumptions.Reports to: Director of Finance or Regional ControllerRole Responsibilities:Prepare journal entries and departmental allocations; post to JD Edwards Enterprise One.Perform daily banking activities, as assigned.Identify and resolve issues with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes.Ensure accurate financial disclosure and reporting to management and external users, including census bureau and BEA reports.Perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.Provide financial information and schedules to external auditors during the annual financial audit.Prepare tax-basis financial reports and schedules for the Tax Manager.Perform and review variance accounting.Lead the annual budget process for assigned companies according to the schedule.Support and lead ad-hoc projects and financial analyses as needed.Provide technical support and advice on management accounting.Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures.Participate in various Finance department duties as required.Prepare cash flow reports and monitor cash needs.Formulate KPIs and conduct special financial analyses.Set up payments in banking online systems.Process credit applications for new vendors.Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.Experience / Skills / Abilities:Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with multiple departments and stakeholders.High level of organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.Adaptability to changing organizational and operational needs.Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Functions).Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools (preferably JD Edwards Enterprise One).Excellent analytical and communication skills.Willingness to travel and work extended hours to meet deadlines for special projects.Job Expectations / Working Conditions:Work in an office environment at a desk for extended periods using a computer.Occasional travel may be required.Overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines, especially during month-end and year-end closings.Direct Reports: None
