Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide quality direct care and support to residents/patients in a healthcare setting. The CNA will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient well-being, maintain a safe and sanitary environment, and work closely with licensed nursing staff to ensure quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Assist residents/patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including: Transfers and ambulation Eating and drinking Bathing and dressing Toileting and personal hygiene Other personal care needs Follow established instructions and procedures when assisting patients with exercises, mobility activities, and techniques designed to maintain strength, flexibility, and range of motion. Assist licensed nursing staff with basic medical procedures and patient care, including suppositories, enemas, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem care as permitted by applicable regulations and facility policies. Monitor and document patients' physical and mental status using appropriate equipment and techniques. Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respirations. Collect and document specimens such as urine, sputum, and stool as directed. Monitor and document patient intake and output accurately. Maintain accurate medical records, worksheets, and other required documentation for assigned patients. Prepare simple reports and ensure documentation is completed in accordance with established procedures. Assist patients with dining needs, including: Transporting patients to and from the dining area Communicating available menu options Recording and communicating meal selections Serving meals appropriately Providing assistance with eating when needed Respond promptly and appropriately to patient requests, including verbal requests and call lights, while providing respectful and compassionate care. Maintain patient rooms and assigned areas in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Change bedding, linens, and other necessary items as needed. Assist licensed nurses during emergency situations by responding quickly and following established policies and procedures. Transport patients to appointments or other activities outside the facility as assigned. Perform basic clerical duties as needed, including answering phones, filing, and maintaining records. Maintain patient privacy, dignity, safety, and comfort at all times. Follow all applicable state regulations, healthcare standards, and facility policies and procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based processes designed to improve patient care, safety, and efficiency. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of: Principles and practices of CNA and paraprofessional nursing care appropriate to the healthcare setting. Applicable state laws, regulations, and standards governing CNA practices. Proper use of medical equipment and supplies. Healthcare practices and procedures established for the work environment. Techniques for maintaining a safe, clean, therapeutic, and sanitary environment. Patient safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality standards. Skills in: Providing compassionate and effective direct patient care. Applying appropriate CNA care techniques and procedures. Taking and accurately documenting vital signs. Using and maintaining basic medical equipment. Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation. Verbal and written communication. Working effectively as part of a healthcare team. Maintaining a safe, orderly, and sanitary patient environment. Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and coworkers. Follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Recognize and promptly report changes in a patient's condition to licensed nursing staff. Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy and dignity. Work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Education & Certification Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Arizona required. Must maintain certification in good standing throughout employment. Additional healthcare training or experience is preferred. This position requires direct interaction with patients and may involve frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, transferring, and assisting patients with mobility and personal care needs.
