Temp-Hire | $20 DOE | Full-Time | North Houston, TXLofton Staffing is currently hiring a Welder Helper / Fabrication Helper for a growing manufacturing company in North Houston. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on shop experience who wants to build their skills and grow within a welding and fabrication environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience using shop equipment such as band saws, grinders, and drill presses and be comfortable assisting experienced welders with fabrication projects. This position offers the opportunity to learn additional skills, including plasma table operation, with room for advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist welders and fabricators with daily production activities
- Prepare, cut, and move steel materials throughout the shop
- Operate basic shop equipment including band saws, grinders, and drilling machines
- Perform material handling, part preparation, and general fabrication support
- Assist with loading/unloading and organizing materials
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Learn new equipment and processes as skills develop
- Previous experience in a welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop environment
- Experience with band saws, grinding, drill press, punch press or similar equipment
- Comfortable working with steel and metal materials
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
