Associate Attorney

A highly respected litigation firm is seeking a Trial Attorney with a passion for courtroom advocacy, investigation, and complex litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys building cases from the ground up, working closely with experts, and taking matters through trial.

This practice focuses on high-exposure property loss and subrogation matters involving fire losses, catastrophic residential and commercial property damage, product failures, construction defects, lithium battery fires, and other complex loss events. The ideal candidate is a strong litigator with meaningful trial experience who thrives on uncovering facts, developing strategy, and delivering results. No billable requirements!

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload involving property damage, fire losses, structural failures, water losses, and product liability matters
• Investigate and litigate claims involving defective products, including lithium battery fires and other high-value loss events
• Collaborate with forensic experts, engineers, investigators, and industry professionals to determine causation and liability
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
• Conduct depositions, negotiate settlements, and oversee cases through resolution or trial
• Analyze contracts, technical reports, expert findings, and complex evidence
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and trials

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in Ohio or eligible for admission
• 3–6 years of litigation experience
• Meaningful trial experience, including managing cases through trial
• Trial experience from any litigation background is welcome, including civil litigation, criminal law, family law, insurance defense, plaintiff litigation, or related areas
• Strong analytical, organizational, and case management skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to thoroughly investigate complex issues
