Surgical scheduler

Bloom Ob/Gyn is a vibrant and busy full-service Obstetrics and Gynecology practice in Northwest Washington DC in search of a full-time surgical scheduler. The following is a listing of the requirements and duties for the role of the surgical scheduler. Although every attempt has been made to make this a comprehensive list, there are duties and expectations which may result which are not listed. A minimum of three years surgical scheduling (OB/GYN knowledge preferred). Strong EMR experience and skill level required. Athenahealth experience preferred but not necessary. Scheduling patients for surgical procedures, including pre- and post-operative appointments Maintain and update the surgical scheduling system Obtains preauthorization of surgical procedures as required by insurance companies and payers Answer patient questions and address concerns Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentialityMust be able to quickly and efficiently develop an understanding of the surgical scheduling policies and procedures Skills Proven experience in medical administrative support, particularly in surgical scheduling within a medical office setting. Proficiency in preauthorization Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in scheduling and record management. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
