Responsibilities Instruction & Student Support Provide specially designed instruction in the resource room, or in general education classrooms as determined by students' needs and outlined in their IEP. Design and facilitate in-person and online individualized educational support services. Maintain a caseload of advisees, meeting regularly to review Grad Planners, Success Plans, track student Industry Recognized Credential (IRC) participation, and facilitate the OMJ Readiness Seal. Teach and/or facilitate Industry Recognized Credential(s) within your building during the CTE block. Employ data (including EOC and STAR data) to personalize instruction, implement math and ELA evidence-based practices, and help students fill learning gaps. Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students and families, participating in student retention and engagement events. Special Education Compliance & Case Management Develop, write, and complete required special education documents (IEPs, ETRs) for the State, sponsor, and parents in a timely manner to ensure compliance. Oversee and assist with the implementation of the IEP for each student served, including tracking Annual Goal service minutes and scheduling special education meetings. Schedule Specially Designed Instruction as outlined in the IEP, gathering data for quarterly progress monitoring. Ensure all required special education documents are locked in SameGoal (Special Education Document platform) after each EMIS Event. Maintain a hard copy of current special education documents in a secure, confidential file cabinet. Collaborate with staff, school psychologists, and administrators to provide accommodation and modification resources. EMIS Data Reporting & Systems Administration Provide EMIS Event forms within 24 hours of an event and enter data into the Student Information System (SIS) for all students with disabilities. Review, adopt, or reject special education transfer documents and ensure all transfer documents are uploaded to SameGoal immediately after EMIS Event reporting. Maintain and update the special education student roster after each EMIS Event. Assessment & Graduation Planning Ensure accurate records of student Grad Planners, clearly articulating earned credits, standardized test results, and career and job readiness progress Ensure the graduation requirements are reviewed with the student(s) and parents and aligned in Section 5 (Transition Activities/Services) of the IEP. Prepare students for standardized tests, administer assessments, communicate testing statuses, and work with the Testing Coordinator to ensure proper accommodations. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred Valid state teaching license in appropriate area preferred Satisfactory completion of federal and state required criminal history check Proficient in computer applications, including Google Suite, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications Prior experience with, knowledge of, of willingness to learn the MTSS process and how it links to student success and possible special education evaluations Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters Utilizes effective time management and exhibits punctuality to the job daily Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exhibits a passion for teaching and working with youth and young adults Ability to work in a diverse educational community setting Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make sound educational decisions Exhibit flexibility regarding decision-making, daily challenges, and job duties Pursues ongoing personal and professional growth Working Conditions Interaction with students, staff, and parents/guardians (virtually and in-person) Interaction with colleagues at other school locations through on- and off-site workgroups, training and other professional development and through web conferences Ability to travel as needed All in-person professional development opportunities must be attended in person Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer and other technology related components Requirements Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree. Valid state teaching license in the appropriate area. Satisfactory completion of federal and state-required criminal history checks. Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Suite, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move around the building, lift up to 25 pounds, and use technology effectively. Useful / Preferred Master's degree. Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas. Prior experience with, knowledge of, or willingness to learn the MTSS process and its link to student success and special education evaluations.
