Mortgage Assistant

Position Purpose To provide administrative and customer support to the Mortgage team while helping ensure a smooth and exceptional experience throughout the loan process. Qualities of a Successful Candidate Must be a mature, responsible individual with a professional appearance, be dependable and take pride in their work. Attention to detail is a must in this position. General PC knowledge and the Internet is required, must be capable of accurate typing, and learning various computer software programs. Familiarization with loan documentation requirements is helpful; however, loan documentation will be under the supervision of a Mortgage Banker so detailed knowledge is not a mandatory prerequisite. Must enjoy helping customers and fellow employees. Must be trustworthy and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must be able to multi-task and work under stress and pressure. Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally. Responsibilities of this position include (but not limited to) To assure that quality service be given to the Mortgage Banker and their customers. When the Mortgage Banker is unavailable to help a customer, a Mortgage Assistant does whatever is necessary to ensure this customer gets high quality service. Confirms Appointments. Schedules closings. Research status of various permits. Data base clean-up. Makes various loan paperwork copies and then scans into master loan file. Types closing letters to customers and may purchase thank you gifts. Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally. Compensation Compensation for positions is based on the specific position and may be paid in the form of an hourly wage, overtime, a semi-monthly salary, commissions, or a combination of them.
