Division Sales Engineer - LVA Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is seeking a Division Sales Engineer – LVA. This role is based at our Arden, NC manufacturing facility and offers a hybrid working schedule. This position is responsible for customer order negotiation and quotation responsibilities including commercial guidance, pricing strategies, technical support, specification guidance/interpretation assistance, and other customer–requested support functions to support profitable sales growth to assigned territories. The role must also act as a "lead" sales engineer on identified projects and as a department leader on product application and commercial issues. What you’ll do Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with present and potential customers by employing effective salesmanship, application engineering, product knowledge, customer business understanding, and competitive awareness. Interpret incoming orders for proper content, price, and compliance with terms and conditions prior to acceptance. Determine a minimum bill of material, the most competitive price level, and shipment cycle for the assigned market segment. Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure resources support customer commitments. Interpret incoming division quotations to meet minimum customer requirements prior to final order clearing and report negotiation status in a timely manner. Focus quotation efforts to ensure proper and timely responses. Act as a technical and commercial liaison between field sales, end‑users/customers, distributors (if applicable) and other product line functions such as engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, scheduling, and management. Recommend changes or modifications in products, policies, or procedures to improve productivity. Participate actively in forming and executing sales plans—develop and evaluate competitive situations, report new product requirements, track negotiations, analyze success/failure, develop accurate monthly forecasts, and report industry and market trends. Develop, present, or assist in presentations to promote product and service acceptance at customer locations, trade shows, training seminars, and corporate meetings. Complete all requested reports professionally and in a timely manner. Coordinate special projects at the direction of the Sales Manager or other product line management. Provide guidance and direction to other sales engineers, including leadership in trainee development. Assume a leadership role in negotiations and competitive strategy formulation. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of prior sales experience or related electrical distribution product experience. Eaton will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. No relocation is offered; candidates must currently reside within a 50‑mile radius of Arden, NC. Active‑Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a business‑related field from an accredited institution. One (1) year experience with sales/bid configurating systems. Skills Comprehensive understanding of electrical distribution and control equipment product and technical aspects. Knowledge of sales functions, negotiation, and inter‑departmental communications. Proficiency with selling techniques, Eaton capabilities, market channels, and technical applications of Eaton products; ability to manage division, customer, and departmental needs to maximize new business. Willingness to provide leadership within the department, including answering application questions, providing support during high‑volume work periods, offering insight to supervisors on commercial issues, and providing managerial guidance when the Sales Manager is unavailable. Benefits and Additional Information Annual salary range: $86,000 – $126,000; salary based on skills, experience, and market considerations. Hybrid working schedule available.
