DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL I

Direct Support Professional – Location: Colfax, ND. Part Time to Full Time. Entry Level. Overview The Direct Support Professional will provide services to adults and children with disabilities and their families, carrying out the mission, vision and values of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. Qualifications Interest in and/or experience supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals and outcomes. Ability to work both as a team and independently to complete tasks as instructed, be receptive to new ideas and be creative in problem solving. Belief that everyone can and must have an opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of disability. Age 16 or older. Ability to meet and maintain background investigation requirements, and commitment to providing a drug‑free, non‑violent environment for people supported and employees. Driver’s license may be required depending on program needs. Primary Responsibilities Assist and support people to realize their goals and attain personal outcomes. Support development and maintenance of social support networks. Help maintain or re‑establish family connections. Assist in maintaining home, health, and well‑being. Help utilize community resources. Assist in directing services and making informed choices in all aspects of life. Ensure a safe environment free of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Lift up to 50 pounds independently. Advocate for people with disabilities and educate the community to treat them with dignity and respect by modeling positive attitudes and respectful communication. Benefits Flexible Schedule Paid Training Pay Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience.
