Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in New Windsor, New York. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including occupational and speech therapists, nursing staff, and administration, all committed to patient success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of each patient’s mobility and strength levels to establish individualized therapy plans that address specific recovery goals.
• Implement and guide patients through tailored therapy sessions focused on regaining strength, improving balance, and enhancing mobility, accommodating up to 7 patients per shift.
• Collaborate with patients’ families to provide updates on progress and involve them in the rehabilitation process, helping to address any questions and concerns.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress in accordance with regulatory standards, ensuring that all records are completed accurately and submitted within set deadlines.
• Participate in regular interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and optimize recovery plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in physical therapy practices and contribute to the development of facility protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and injuries resulting from falls or sports. Our patient demographic includes elderly patients in skilled nursing care, as well as individuals seeking outpatient rehabilitation. This role is crucial in enhancing their functional abilities and quality of life through compassionate, evidence-based interventions.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Physical Therapist License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; candidates with a Master’s or Doctorate degree will be prioritized.
• A minimum of two years of direct patient care experience in a physical therapy setting, ideally within skilled nursing or rehabilitation facilities.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
