Job Description: Per Diem RN Wonderful opportunity to join the clinical staff of Paragon Surgery Center. We are a brand new, family oriented, growing, physician‑owned ambulatory surgery center (ASC). It is conveniently located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA, by the airport. The Center has two operating rooms and five pre‑op / PACU bays. Patient care is provided in an environment that is safe, comfortable and caring, which makes us the partner of choice for surgical care on the Central Coast. Specialty Areas Ophthalmology Pain Management Cardiology Plastics Accountabilities / Responsibilities Per diem registered nurses work under the direct supervision of the administrator and nursing supervisor and function as a member of the ASC. They provide professional perioperative nursing care (pre‑op, post‑op and/or intra‑op). Duties include: Monitoring vital signs Observe and record patient behavior Collect patient health history Administer medications Circulate in the OR Counsel and educate patients on treatment plans Providing support to patients and their families Monitor and evaluate cost‑effective practices within the ASC Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace Contribute to the positive atmosphere of the workplace Willingness to train Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) One (1) year of nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery center preferred CPR certification and/or ACLS, PALS certification Critical thinking skills Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
