job summary:
Randstad is seeking a senior Technical Product Manager - Enterprise Platforms & Infrastructure to join our premier passenger rail enterprise client. Reporting directly to the Director of Product for Enterprise Platforms, this strategic individual contributor role serves as the critical leadership bridge between director-level platform strategy and day-to-day execution across 2+ Product Owners. Owning the organization's largest technical portfolio-spanning core network infrastructure, SD-WAN, station Wi-Fi, cloud environments, and DevOps tooling-you will translate high-level technology roadmaps into actionable execution plans while empowering Product Owners, bridging technical and operational teams, and keeping engineering delivery accountable.

responsibilities:



Strategic Alignment & PO Mentorship: Act as the strategic middle layer between platform leadership and execution teams, converting director-level strategy into clear tactical roadmaps and providing daily coaching and decision-support to Product Owners.

Platform Product Ownership: Own the multi-year vision, feature backlog, and lifecycle strategy across Enterprise Platform domains, including core network infrastructure, cloud architecture, DevOps pipelines, and platform services.

Technical & Engineering Accountability: Serve as an authoritative technical partner equipped with a sharp "BS detector"-challenging technical assumptions, evaluating engineering feasibility, and calling out unrealistic delivery estimates (e.g., firewall builds, network upgrades, or cloud migrations).

Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with Lead Architects, DevOps engineers, network engineering teams, and operations control centers to manage cross-platform dependencies and ensure seamless service continuity.

Pragmatic SAFe / Agile Delivery: Drive PI Planning preparation, backlog refinement, and feature sequencing, applying SAFe principles pragmatically to drive business outcomes rather than rigid framework compliance.

Executive & Architectural Stakeholder Engagement: Synthesize platform roadmaps, technical risks, capacity bottlenecks, and infrastructure health into transparent metrics and briefings for senior IT leadership and architecture review boards.

qualifications:
Experience Level: 8+ years of technical product management or technical product ownership experience leading complex, enterprise-scale infrastructure, cloud, or platform products.

Technical Depth & Domain Knowledge: Strong foundational fluency in enterprise networking and infrastructure concepts (e.g., SD-WAN, core switching/routing, station/field Wi-Fi architectures, firewalls, cloud platforms, and CI/CD DevOps workflows).

Engineering Evaluation Skills: Proven ability to engage directly with principal architects and senior network engineers, interpret system designs, and evaluate technical effort timelines accurately.

Agile / SAFe Expertise: Practical experience operating within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments, facilitating dependency mapping, and participating in quarterly PI Planning events.

Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated ability to guide and support junior/mid-level Product Owners without direct reporting authority, driving alignment across distributed teams.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Certifications: Relevant networking/cloud certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Certifications, CCNA/CCNP, Network+) or Product Management certifications (SAFe POPM, Pragmatic Institute) are a strong plus.
