Site Safety Manager

Job Title: Site Safety Manager Overview: As a Site Safety Manager in our refinery, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel, contractors, and visitors. Your role will involve identifying and mitigating safety hazards, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct hazard assessments, risk assessments, and job safety analyses (JSAs) to identify potential safety hazards, assess associated risks, and develop mitigation measures.
- Safety Training and Education:
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, orientations, and workshops to educate employees, contractors, and visitors on safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide training on emergency response procedures, hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and other safety-related topics to ensure compliance and competency.
- Safety Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs of work areas, equipment, and facilities to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and practices.
- Document inspection findings, observations, and corrective actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions.
- Prepare incident reports, documentation, and recommendations for management review, regulatory reporting, and insurance purposes.
- Safety Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, standards, and requirements, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other relevant agencies.
- Monitor regulatory changes, updates, and industry trends to proactively address emerging safety issues and maintain compliance.
- Safety Culture and Engagement:
- Promote a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement by fostering employee engagement, participation, and accountability in safety initiatives.
- Encourage reporting of safety concerns, incidents, and near misses, and recognize and reward positive safety behaviors and achievements.
