Individuals interested in joining SFDPH should expect to work in person across these settings.Under general supervision, performs professional nursing duties in hospitals, emergency hospitals, clinics, sanitariums and other institutions.Examples of duties include:Provides nursing care to patients within an assigned hospital Unit, Clinic, or any SFDPH setting that requires Registered Nursing careObserves and reports symptoms and conditions of patientsTakes and records vital signs or other diagnostics including temperatures, respiration and pulseReports unusual occurrences and unusual results of treatmentsSets up treatment trays, prepares instruments and other equipmentImplements medical and nursing care plansDirects and supervises the patient care provided by nursing personnelMaintains standard unit or clinic activitiesAssists in administering highly specialized therapyMaintains records reflecting patients' condition, medication, treatment and reactionsFollows regulations, policies, and procedures for nursing careMay direct the work of auxiliary sub-professional personnel in performing various tasks in assisting with the care and comfort of patients and the cleanliness and sanitation of ward, hospital beds, and appurtenant equipmentQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:License: Possession of a valid permanent/temporary (including interim permit) California Registered Nurse License IMPORTANT: License status must be "Current" according to search.dca.ca.gov.
