Diesel Fleet MechanicOur client is seeking a Diesel Fleet mechanic for their office in Odessa, TX.US Citizens only.A rotation of 14/7 is available as well as housing.Hourly wage is DOE and $20.00- $36.00 an hour plus weekly overtime.Job Summary:The Diesel Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the Company's fleet. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and trailers. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.Key Responsibilities:Perform thorough diagnostic tests and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components to maintain fleet performance and safety.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance services to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage and work performed, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards, including DOT and EPA requirements.Assist in managing inventory levels of spare parts and order replacements as needed to minimize downtime.Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to share knowledge and best practices.Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide on-call support as necessary to keep the fleet operational.Required Qualifications and Skills:High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles is required; would like to see 2-5 years.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems.Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
