Assistant Commissary Manager

Plan, organize, and manage warehouse management, custodial services, and inventory stocking under a federal contract Manage budgeting, operational goals, quality control, inventory management, record keeping, and management reporting Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and obligations Develop professional relationships and communication channels with key contract personnel Supervise employees, including hiring, training, development, counseling, and performance reviews Establish staffing requirements and coordinate daily work schedules based on volume and customer demand Respond to email and telephone requests and provide information about department operations and services Establish work processes and maintain written policies and procedures Schedule and prioritize tasks and ensure adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines Track operational data and produce management reports and presentations Meet with customers to ensure service quality, define expectations, resolve problems, and improve processes Conduct and participate in departmental and other meetings Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Requirements One year of distribution management experience, including at least one year in a supervisory position Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges, preferred Familiarity with contract terms and conditions Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA occupational safety regulations Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes, and address employee relations Ability to supervise and develop a team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentations and responding to inquiries Leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills Exceptional customer service skills Human relations skills Advanced computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation Mathematical skills involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions Ability to establish priorities and solve business, operational, and strategic management problems Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle multiple projects Associate degree, or comparable combination of formal education and work experience Ability to perform required physical demands and work in a commissary, warehouse, or distribution environment May be required to work more than 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, and compliance with federal contract terms.
