**Candidates without a RN certification will NOT be considered** ASC Director/Director of Nursing – Multi-OR Ophthalmology Surgery Center Position Overview Mackenzie Stuart is partnered with a growing ophthalmology group that is seeking a dynamic and experience d ASC Director/Director of Nursin g to lead both administrative and clinical operations within their high-performing ambulatory surgery center. This “working leader” role blends strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in patient care, ensuring exceptional outcomes, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience in surgical services, with a focus on ophthalmology procedures includ ing cataract surgery, glaucoma treatments, and other outpatient eye surger i es. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations of the ambulatory surgery center, ensuring efficient surgical flow, strong physician collaboration, and a superior patient and staff experience Develop, implement, and maintain policies that meet accreditation standards (The Joint Commission) and regulatory requirements (CMS, OSHA) Manage operating schedules, staffing, inventory, and equipment to optimize efficiency and performance Clinical Leadership & Quality Oversight Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care Monitor infection prevention protocols and adherence to clinical best practices Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives Establish and evaluate standards of patient care in partnership with medical and clinical staff Develop and maintain patient care protocols, including pre- and post-operative procedures, nursing policies, and discharge guidelines Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation and patient records to ensure compliance and quality Supply & Equipment Management Ensure consistent availability of supplies, medications (including controlled substances), instrumentation, and equipment within budget Oversee purchasing processes and inventory management Maintain availability of sterile supplies for all scheduled procedures Coordinate acquisition and return of borrowed or rented equipment in a cost-effective and timely manner Partner with vendors to support onboarding and staff training for new technologies Financial Management Collaborate with the CFO to develop and manage the annual budget Monitor financial performance, expenses, and cost-efficiency measures Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and revenue cycle metrics Work with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement Staff Leadership & Development Recruit, hire, train, and mentor clinical and administrative staff Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement Conduct performance evaluations and adjust staffing levels based on surgical volume and operational needs Regulatory Compliance Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Lead preparation for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews Ensure all licensing and credentialing requirements are met and maintained Position Details Job Type: Full-Time
