Senior Mechanical Engineer

Amazon Principal Engineering (APET) Team Member – Mechanical Engineer A dynamic, fast‑paced, program‑guiding role focused on Mechatronic Engineering for the Amazon Account, with a Mechanical Engineering background. The APET team ensures the development of tools and processes to drive excellence in execution for the Amazon Project Teams in both quality and efficiency. The candidate will act as a trusted advisor to external customers at Amazon and internal execution team partners (engineering, installation, and management) while collaborating in real time with the Performance Excellence team, R&D, Customer Service, and Global Engineering partners. Responsibilities Drive process, product, tool and solution innovation in the Amazon program. Engage with holistic initiatives and research & develop new ideas. Proactively create, conceptualize, and identify improvements. Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans. Mentor and engage with others to build a program‑wide lean and continuous improvement culture. Maintain standard documents and ensure they remain easily accessible. Collaborate with the Performance Excellence team to align the Amazon program with Global Dematic Standards. Capture lessons learned and provide continuous communication and training to affected groups. Facilitate kaizen events and advise on troubleshooting complex, multi‑departmental problems across regions and/or cross‑functional areas. Direct process measurement, program scorecards, and other metrics to drive continuous improvements throughout the project lifecycle. Support sales‑level concept and solution development technical reviews. Drive consistent solutions and proven designs. Support project‑level technical reviews, including drawings, maintenance access, and rates. Qualifications 8+ years of mechanical application engineering experience. Ability to innovate and create solutions that significantly improve business and technical results. Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills at all levels. Competence in making timely, effective, pragmatic decisions. Ability to build credibility and confidence as a trusted advisor with internal and external customers. Change‑agent mindset with a track record of driving and supporting organizational change. Outstanding team‑building skills with the capacity to improve interaction and efficiency, breaking down roadblocks and silos. Sense of urgency, passion, and self‑motivation.
