Description The Office Worker assists the Camper Services Director in the seasonal administrative duties of YMCA Camp Hi-Rock. Since office staff are commonly the first people to communicate with visitors, new staff members, campers, or parents, the Office Worker must maintain a professional and positive attitude about the general operation of camp. The Office Worker maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining safe conditions in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. This results in a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined. Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all relationships (colleagues, members, volunteers, vendors, and guests)
- Enter and maintain branch-specific data (memberships, program registrations, etc.)
- Assist the Camper Services Director with producing and distributing documents
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and parents with professional, supportive customer service
- Keep the office and surrounding area clean and organized
- Answer phone calls and emails professionally, providing accurate and courteous information
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure efficient, accurate, and member-focused administrative operations
- Attend assigned staff meetings and trainings
- Help prepare for and run branch events (including check-in and check-out)
- Report needed office equipment repairs or supply replacements to the Camper Services Director
- Collect staff timesheets and prepare them for verification
- Communicate member issues or concerns to the Camper Services Director
- Assist with camp store operations as needed
- Ensure office shifts are properly covered in coordination with the team
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs
- Able to learn and adapt to various administrative systems and procedures (including Campsite platform)
- Maintains composure and professionalism under pressure or when challenged
- Observant, safety-conscious, and able to respond quickly and calmly in emergencies
- Completion of new employee training and department onboarding required
