Automation Technician

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor automated production equipment during operation.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve simple mechanical and operational issues.
• Replace worn or damaged mechanical components as needed.
• Respond to machine alarms by following established procedures and escalating issues when necessary.
• Perform machine changeovers and adjustments according to production schedules.
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Work with maintenance and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use common hand tools and basic measuring devices.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and equipment manuals.
• Willingness to learn automated equipment operation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment.
• Mechanical maintenance or machine operation experience.
• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs.
