About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric Behavioral Health RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Behavioral Health Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night or Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: CPI certification (facility will certify) Epic charting experience Verbal de-escalation skills Experience with adolescents Description: This position is for a 12-hour rotating Day/Night schedule. The role is on an inpatient behavioral health unit serving adolescents. The nursing staff will be responsible for daily assessments and medication administration. There will be a focus on milieu monitoring and providing one-on-one patient support when necessary. Staffing ratios are 1 nurse for every 2 patients. Candidates should be comfortable floating to fulfill support roles as needed. The unit accommodates children and adolescents ages 5-17 with behavioral health needs, including mood disorders and suicidal ideation. Skills in behavior management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques are crucial. Experience with ECT and managing feeding tubes may be required occasionally. A commitment to providing compassionate care in a dynamic environment is essential.
