Medical Surgical (MS) | Nights | Decatur, TX

The healthcare provider will work on a Medical Surgical Floor delivering patient care during night shifts. The role requires strong telemetry and Med Surg experience to support typical unit procedures and maintain patient safety. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week; weekend shifts are required, with no on-call responsibilities.
• Required Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); experience with telemetry; Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience; ability to demonstrate cardiac recognition, IV starts, time management, and competency with Alterra (Allscripts) as applicable.
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional candidates may be considered first with demonstrated cardiac recognition and IV starts.
• Responsibilities: Provide care for adult Medical Surgical patients, including patients undergoing abdominal procedures such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and heart caths; support care for gastric sleeves and orthopedic procedures including total hip, total knee, total shoulder replacements, and orthopedic trauma repairs (fractures).
• Float: Float rotation may be required to inpatient rehab, emergency department, and progressive care unit as needed, without assignments outside the candidates skill level or scope.
• Dress Code: Scrubs; currently black scrubs are used, with a planned move to Medical City Blue.
