Overview Adventist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery for a nursing job in Hanford, California. Job Summary Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Responsibilities Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients in Labor and Delivery according to established standards and the nursing process. Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines. Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare team to provide safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education and Work Experience Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Acute care facility experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy: Required Facility/Department Certifications AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS: Required Essential Functions Collects and analyzes patient health data; develops and implements a plan to achieve outcomes; evaluates progress toward outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family, and healthcare team to provide safe and caring care environment; provides health information to patients and families. Participates in discharge planning and coordinates care delivery. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
