Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting for the daily plant operations, management services, and the corporation. The role will assure all appropriate work necessary is performed accurately and on time to ensure proper completion of financial statements and tax returns. Essential Functions Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Responsible for Avalara Administration, State Tax Regulations, Property Tax Returns, US Audit Disclosures, Tax Schedules, etc. Assist with the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to Global Controller. Provides financial analysis to support manufacturing and distribution operational performance, inventory management, capital investments, and commercial decisions. Reviews monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and analysis of income statement accounts for missing or miscoded transactions. Responsible for answering branch level analysis and related questions. Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit. Leads annual physical inventory audits. Ensures adequate training needs are followed through and promotes a fostering work environment to retain employees. Other duties can be assigned based on company needs and employee capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Supervisory Responsibility This position will supervise and direct the operations of the accounting department. The role will be responsible for reviewing the work of the staff accountant and 3 senior accountants. The position is responsible for leading the annual physical inventory across all locations. This role will be responsible for setting goals, review performance, and address disciplinary items. This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. At times, employee might be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. To meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will be required to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends. Travel Occasional overnight travel is expected for this position. There may be occasional local day travel or overnight travel as it relates to training activities or support of assigned plants/locations. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration. Seven years or more of related experience required. Preferred Education and Experience Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company. Manufacturing environment experience using an ERP software.
