Intake Therapist – Mental Health

Shift: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday through Thursday; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday. Some evening or weekend hours will be required.

Contract Length: 143 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Southgate, MI

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
• Valid State of Michigan licensure
• Minimum of one year post-Master's experience providing mental health treatment services to adults with severe mental illness
• CAADC credential or active MCBAP certification
• Development Plan within six weeks of hire
• Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional and Qualified Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Professional credential within 120 days of hire

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake assessments to identify service needs and preferences, and complete documentation within 48 hours.
• Gather and integrate information from all available sources during the intake assessment.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to assess consumer motivation.
• Provide accurate information about services and supports available to consumers.
• Assist consumers in initiating the person-centered planning process.
• Develop Safety Plans based on intake assessment needs.
• Identify consumers requiring extensive evaluation and facilitate referrals as needed.
• Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, and team meetings.
• Document all service activity and maintain professional ethics and boundaries.

Compliance / Notes:

• Mileage reimbursement provided when personal vehicle is used (IRS standard rate).
• Maintain appropriate state licensure or certification.
• Complete 25 hours of program or position-specific training annually.
• Abide by all compliance policies and procedures.
