Pathologist Position Summary \n

The Pathologist provides diagnostic services through the examination and interpretation of surgical pathology, cytology, and laboratory specimens. This role supports accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and quality patient care through collaboration with clinical teams and adherence to evidence-based and regulatory standards.

  Examine and interpret surgical pathology and cytology specimens

  Provide diagnostic reports to support clinical decision-making

\n
• \n

  Perform gross and microscopic examinations of tissue samples

\n
• \n

  Correlate pathologic findings with clinical history and laboratory data

\n
• \n

  Participate in intraoperative consultations, including frozen sections, as required

\n
• \n

  Ensure quality assurance and compliance with laboratory standards and regulations

\n
• \n

  Collaborate with physicians, laboratory staff, and multidisciplinary care teams

\n
• \n

  Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and clinical consultations

\n
• \n

  Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and reporting

\n
• \n

  Support continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

\n
• \n

  Participate in teaching, mentoring, or research activities as applicable

\n

\n
• \n

  Hospital-based or reference laboratory environment

\n
• \n

  May include anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, or combined responsibilities

\n
• \n

  Daytime schedule with call coverage as required

\n

\n
• \n

  MD or DO from an accredited medical school

\n
• \n

  Completion of an accredited Pathology residency program (Anatomic, Clinical, or Combined)

\n
• \n

  Board certified or board eligible in Pathology

\n
• \n

  Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing state

\n
• \n

  Subspecialty fellowship training preferred but not required

\n

• \n

  Strong diagnostic and analytical skills

\n
• \n

  Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• \n

  Ability to correlate pathologic findings with clinical information

• \n

  Excellent communication and consultation skills
