Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years acute rehab experience required License: Michigan state license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required Must-Have: 2 years acute rehab experience Description: IMPORTANT: A strict attendance policy has been implemented. Absences from scheduled shifts or being more than 20 minutes late three times will result in termination. Situations such as a communicable disease or hospitalization will be reviewed with supporting evidence. This policy will begin on June 1, 2024. Rehabilitation services within the inpatient setting are provided by professionals who possess a depth and breadth of knowledge for patients who are acutely ill. Clinical reasoning skills are used to evaluate patients with unstable medical conditions. The role involves considerations for surgical interventions, collaboration, and communication with other health care professionals. An evidence-based approach is taken for customizing treatment. Evaluation results are critical in helping to create an optimal plan of care and identifying discharge considerations. Registered Nurses use clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. They assess, monitor, and detect complications while also planning and taking appropriate action to prevent potential physiological issues. Registered Nurses are accountable for integrating care within the scope of practice, relevant education, and experience. They report to the shift Team Leader and are accountable to the Department Manager. Policies and procedures guide job duties. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Conducting physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments consistent with patient and significant others' changing needs. Seeking lifelong learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review. Demonstrating leadership by sharing knowledge, serving as a clinical resource, and being a professional role model. Exhibiting effective communication through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary collaboration. Demonstrating enhanced time management skills and assisting others to contribute to overall team performance. Performing other duties as directed by competency-based objectives.
