Manufacturing Work Team Leader

General Purpose Leads and manages an assigned department to achieve operational objectives, including safety, product quality, reliability, cost control, continuous improvement, and employee morale, in alignment with corporate strategy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Value: Continuously improve operations by eliminating waste and creating processes that add 100% value to the customer. Continuous Improvement: Use kaizen to improve the organization’s capability, engaging employees daily in problem‑solving and moving toward the ideal state. Professional Challenge/Participation: Motivate and involve employees in process improvement through creativity, coaching, and accountability for standardized work. Pull System: Operate with one‑piece flow and produce only to customer demand (takt time). Quality: Ensure zero defects, partner with customer service and quality teams, and manage compliance with ISO9000 certification. Recognition/Feedback: Provide performance reviews, coaching, and discipline, and recognize outstanding performance in alignment with the company’s Blueprint for Corporate Community. Reliability: Deliver quality products on time, 100%. Safety: Maintain a safe environment, implement 5‑S principles, complete safety training, and enforce all safety policies. Environmental Goals: Monitor achievement of corporate and plant environmental objectives. Shop Floor Focus: Spend the majority of time on the shop floor to understand operations and gather employee input. Staffing & Development: Select, train, and develop staff, and help them acquire new skills to improve operations. Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of four years of supervisory experience in an operations environment, or a four‑year history of successful leadership with proven results. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, manage conflict, and make sound decisions. Proficiency in ISO quality systems fundamentals and Lean Manufacturing principles. Ability to use office automation and communication software.
