Description: Responsible for independently performing, interpreting, and correlating clinical laboratory tests to assist physician diagnosis and treatment. Performs testing according to policies and procedures. Performs clinical laboratory testing including high complexity and moderate complexity. Evaluates specimens to meet pre-analytical requirements. Communicates information including critical test results, interpretation of testing, and status of workflow. Manages quality of testing by performing quality control and instrument maintenance. Troubleshoots any issues that arise and maintains reagent and supply inventory levels. Documents work performed and corrective actions taken. Trains new employees and students in laboratory procedures.
