Quality Technician

Quality TechnicianLincoln Electric Automation is seeking a Quality Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Chattanooga, TN. This role plays a key part in ensuring product integrity by performing dimensional inspections, supporting assembly troubleshooting, and validating components against engineering specifications. You'll work with advanced metrology tools—including portable (Faro Arm) and bridge CMMs—while collaborating closely with engineering, production, and quality teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, precision measurement, and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Inspection & MetrologyPerform dimensional inspections using basic tools (rulers, tape measures) and precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Conduct measurements and troubleshooting using Faro Arm portable CMMCalibrate probes and interpret measurement data to support tooling adjustmentsPerform detailed layouts using bridge CMMMechanical & Assembly SupportRepair, adjust, and troubleshoot mechanical assembliesUse standard hand tools (wrenches, hammers, punches)Understand and work with mechanical components (fasteners, screws, pins)Perform hole repairs (drilling, reaming, tapping, helicoils, keenserts)Operate a forklift safelyCMM Programming & AnalysisCreate and calibrate probe setupsDevelop manual and automated CMM inspection programsApply GD&T principles in measurement and validationAnalyze data to verify product conformance and support corrective actionsBlueprint Interpretation & Quality ValidationRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructionsDetermine product conformance against engineering and customer requirementsConvert between metric and standard unitsCommunicate inspection results to internal teams and customersCAD & Technical SupportUse 3D CAD systems to support inspection and measurement activitiesEvaluate dimensions and tolerancesCreate simplified models and drawings for parts and assembliesDocumentation & ComplianceComplete and maintain accurate inspection documentationSupport documentation control and identify gaps or missing recordsAssist others in proper documentation practices when neededQuality Systems & AuditsParticipate in internal inspections and auditsSupport audit preparation and act as an active audit team memberContribute to issue identification, reporting, and resolutionBasic QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent technical training/experienceMinimum 2 years of quality experience in a structured manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints and GD&TWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 standardsStrong verbal, written, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Nitro PDF)Lincoln Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
