Quality Assurance Specialist

Major Responsibility:

Responsible for overall quality, safety, and accuracy of products produced. Must ensure that products meet all required internal and customer specifications. Ensure that GMP's are being enforced and followed.

Ensure through monitoring, testing, and observation that all departments are consistently producing safe and legal products to the quality levels specified by our customers and consumers.

Ensure that GMPs, procedures and documentation requirements are being enforced and followed.

Perform documented internal audits to verify compliance.

Specific Responsibilities:

Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.

• Perform incoming inspection of raw materials.
• Perform in process and finished product testing and inspections to ensure products are produced according to set customer specifications.
• Communicate issues and concerns to management regarding process, quality, product safety, or GMP compliance.
• Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices through daily informal internal audits.
• Participate in new product validations.
• Ensure all documents in use are the current version, legible and that general documentation requirements are being followed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Work on continuous improvement of the safety and quality of products produced.
• Maintain the calibration program for scales.
• Investigate deviations from specifications and identify actions to prevent recurrence as required.
• Perform incoming inspection of raw materials as required
• Perform finished goods audits and document results on required form.
• Place nonconforming materials or product on QA Hold and ensure they are segregated in designated hold area.
• Oversee rework process and release of product.
• Ensure adequate selection, handling, storage, and approval of customer requested samples, retain samples, and reference samples.

Experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret Product & Packaging Specifications, SOPs, Forms, and Dispos
• Flexibility to work when and where needed, including overtime as required.

Special Knowledge:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred but not required
