About Us: We are specifically looking for candidates who can work a Part Time 20-29 hour week currently and in the future. Our office is open 7am and 7pm Monday-Thursday and 7am - 6pm on Fridays. We are not hiring for short term (i.e., Summer Employment) due to the extensive training provided and the job expectations of our Physical Therapy Aides. Lafayette Physical Therapy, Inc. has been an established private practice in the community for over 51 years. We currently have two locations: Lafayette Physical Therapy in Lafayette, CA and Bay Area Physical Therapy in Pleasant Hill, CA. We provide rehabilitation and wellness including orthopedics, sports and geriatric rehabilitation to a diverse clientele. Our therapists are trained in a variety of disciplines including Australian manual therapy, McKenzie approach, Gary Gray, PNF, sports training, Pilates, and Myofascial Release Therapy. Our cutting edge clinic promotes clinical knowledge to help us achieve better and faster outcomes, be effective and efficient in our treatment. We offer in house diagnostics including Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSKUS), Nerve Conduction Studies, and Electromyography (EMG), performed by our Clinical Service Director. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the medical field, especially for individuals applying to Physical Therapy or other related degree programs. We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to join our skilled team. The position assists the physical therapy practice in patient care, clinic duties, and helps the clinic run efficiently and effectively. The position works with multiple full/part time Physical Therapists and other Physical Therapy Aides. Aides gain skills in patient flow, therapeutic exercise, and a variety of therapeutic modalities including Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, and more. Responsibilities: Patient Care: Assist in the flow of patients in and out of the clinic. Assist in modality setups including heat/ice, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, light therapy, Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, and traction. Under the supervision of the Therapist, assist with therapeutic exercises and instruction and inform Therapists of patient responses to treatments. Clinic/Office Duties: Maintain appropriate levels of stock and supplies. Maintain the clinic in a clean and orderly fashion including cleaning and prepping rooms and treatment tables, equipment, minor housekeeping tasks such as dusting, laundry, etc., stocking forms for clinic use, filing. Adherence to HIPAA Privacy Regulations (Training Provided to new staff). Attend staff meetings and in‑services regularly. Performance Measurements: Adaptability in performing various tasks and remaining flexible. Speed, accuracy, and volume of work accomplished. Willingness to remain flexible and take direction. Performance of required duties. Communication with patients, staff, and management. Requirements: Good customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Good communication skills. Ability to take direction and follow through with tasks. Ability to be self‑directed when necessary while strictly adhering to task priority and relevance. Ability to judge good body mechanics is necessary. Must have taken a minimum of one anatomy, physiology, or kinesiology class in high school or college. Must have good understanding of posture and muscle groups. High School Diploma/GED required. Current or planned enrollment to pursue a degree in a related clinical field is a plus. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field a plus. Bonus Points: Previous experience in a related clinical setting beneficial, but not necessary. Experience with exercise instruction beneficial but not necessary. Experience with modality setups listed above beneficial but not necessary. Personal Training Certification, Pilates Certification or other fitness certification a big plus but not necessary. Schedule: Minimum 20 hours available for work required. We are looking for someone who can work 20-29 hours and specifically with fairly open availability between 7am and 7pm Monday‑Thursday and 7am‑6pm on Fridays. Our Physical Therapy aides typically work an "Alternative Work Week" of 10 hour shifts and/or 5 hour shifts. Saturday shift may be available.
