Position Summary An open rank, fixed‑term Glaucoma Ophthalmologist position is available in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Responsibilities include patient care, research, resident teaching and supervision, and teaching medical students. The position serves patients at UNC Kittner Eye Center and other clinical sites owned by UNC Eye. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Patient care at UNC Kittner Eye Center and other UNC Eye sites. Research in ophthalmology and glaucoma. Resident teaching and supervision. Teaching medical students. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Prerequisites include successful graduation from an approved ophthalmology residency training program, a 1‑2 year fellowship in glaucoma, and demonstrated excellence in all scholarly and training activities. Qualifications include board certification or eligibility and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Prior experience in academic medicine and working as part of a high‑performing clinical team.
