Fairport Hardware is hiring a part time sales clerk. We are a local family run business that offers their customers high quality service and products. Every member of our team plays a critical role. We are dedicated to serving our community and are committed to "doing what it takes" to satisfy our customer's needs. We aim to make our store a great shopping experience.

Requirements:

• 1+ year of retail experience.
• Able to work a flexible schedule (combination of weekday mornings, afternoons, or evenings and some weekends) to support business needs.
• Please do not apply if your schedule is not flexible enough to rotate different shifts.
• Instills trust and ensures accountability.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Open to working 16-24 hours per week.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• General experience with hardware and eager to learn.
• Efficiently able to use computers and/or POS (point of sale) system.
• Collaborative and adaptable to carry out a variety of tasks.
• Must be motivated and able to multitask between special assignments & customers at the register.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in pricing, stocking, inventory, marking and bagging of merchandise.
• Promote and sell items with a basic understanding to reach store goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Assisting with opening and/or closing procedures when needed.
• Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs).

Pay is $18 - $20/hr, dependent upon experience.
